Among the many things that Jersey is known for, subs done right is near the top. White House Subs has crafted superior submarine sandwiches the New Jersey way since 1946. From their humble beginnings 80 years ago, White House Subs has become world famous for quality-made New Jersey subs.
White House believes that the bread is as important as the meats, cheeses and toppings that go into a top quality sub. Only fresh, top-quality Atlantic City bread is used.
Ducktown is a historically Italian American district of Atlantic City, stretching from Missouri Avenue to Texas Avenue. The Press of Atlantic City called the neighborhood "Atlantic City's Little Italy". Italian immigrants settled Ducktown in the early 20th century and named it for the duck houses they built along the bayfront, where they raised poultry and waterfowl. Over 25 languages are spoken by various Ducktown communities.
Restaurants are plentiful in Ducktown.

Located in the area surrounding Gardner's Basin, Snug Harbor is known as an estuary. It is a coastal lagoon where fresh water intrudes with sea water. Unique homes, some of which hold claim to being speakeasies during Prohibition, line the harbor, offering the boating residents quick access to the back bays and ocean.
Views of clam boats and other ocean-going vessels are found at Snug Harbor.
Gardner's Basin is a bayside park and historic area nestled in Atlantic City's Inlet neighborhood. It offers a variety of attractions and activities away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk. Here we find waterfront dining, boat excursions, dolphin watching cruises, fishing trips, and the Atlantic City Aquarium. There is a memorial dedicated to local maritime workers lost at sea.
Across the basin is the US Coast Guard Atlantic City Station.
Quahogs and surf clams are used in products such as chowders, sauces, dips and breaded clam strips. Fifty percent of these clams are harvested in Atlantic City. The southern New Jersey coast is endowed with large back bay estuaries that provide an excellent home for the Eastern Hard-Shell clam. We call them Little Necks, Top Necks, Cherrystones and Chowders.
Located next door to Gardner's Basin, we can get up close to the ocean-going clam boats. If you enjoy clam products, there’s a good chance that clam was harvested here.
The Diving Bell on Steel Pier was a popular attraction. Once in the small bell, passengers were lowered off the pier into the ocean. Underwater, one could look through the portholes at whatever might have been passing by. The bell offered a thrilling ride for many years.
It continued to stand at the pier until 1986. It was headed for the scrap heap, but luckily someone at a Jersey City scrap yard recognized it.
It was donated to Gardner’s Basin in 1989, where it is now displayed.
